Company History

Centre Communications was founded by Ron Meyer in the early 1980s to produce series and programs for the public television system. In the late 1980s Centre turned its focus to acquiring and distributing programs to schools, libraries and the growing number of cable services. Throughout the early 1990s Centre grew its catalog to over 600 shows and series. During this time, production continued for such program services as Discovery, The Disney Channel, National Geographic Explorer, PBS and Nickelodeon, for which it won an cable Ace Award.

Centre also produced the first feature film for Discovery/Animal Planet: Legend of the Spirit Dog. It went on to produce two other features currently in distribution (see link, IMDB.com). In 1998 Centre sold its catalog to Clearvue/eav in Chicago, Illinois allowing it to move more heavily into production.

Recently Centre produced Dinosaur Eggs and Babies now in distribution with Janson Media, and a 24 part series called Turning Points in American History for Ambrose Video and The History Channel.

It has just completed an eight part series DVD package to be released this Christmas called A Complete History of United States Wars, in addition, it will air on public television.
